Hooray! Today I found a padded envelope on my doormat. I opened it up, half-hoping, and yes - there were two Uncorrected Proof copies of my children's novel, A BOY CALLED MOUSE.
I am so delighted. Thank you Bloomsbury! Now I shall have chocolate pudding with my lunch by way of celebration.
Good news Penny - the grand publication day will soon be here. I hope you enjoy your celebration pudding.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Damian. That day won't be here for ages, I'm afraid. It's October 4th, at the start of Book Week. But today was the very first time I truly believed my lengthy manuscript would become a book. Literally, I suppose, as the thing was there in my hands. Very exciting though the proof copy doesn't have any of Peter Bailey's lovely illustrations inside, nor the grand cover outside.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Kath! The excitement's now subsided enough for me to realise I now have to read the "Uncorrected Proof Copy" through for any errors that need correction, ie Back to Work!
